During the visit, the students had the opportunity to try out a range of roles, from presenting programmes on camera and learning the basics of video editing to meeting the teams responsible for developing and maintaining digital platforms. Through direct interaction with WMG employees, they gained insight into what it is like to work at a company that develops digital products and platforms, as well as the wide variety of knowledge and skills required in this sector.
Through a tour of the company’s premises, as well as short lectures and presentations, the girls developed a broader understanding of how a modern digital ecosystem functions, from the initial idea to the delivery of products and content. They also learned more about career opportunities in technology and the specific projects currently being developed within the company, while hearing first-hand experiences from women who are already building successful careers in the ICT sector.
Initiatives of this kind aim to make technology more accessible to younger generations and encourage girls to recognise their own interests and potential in fields that are shaping the future.
As part of its corporate social responsibility strategy, WMG (Wireless Media Group), through the activities of its foundation, systematically supports initiatives that advance education, empower young people and promote greater representation of women in the technology sector.
