The company WMG (Wireless Media Group) participated in the previous period as a partner in a series of relevant international forums dedicated to European integrations, economic development and relations between the European Union and the Western Balkans. Through cooperation with leading European organizations and platforms for public dialogue, WMG was involved in processes addressing political, economic and institutional issues of importance for the region.
The company WMG and the WMG Foundation initiative, EUpravo Zato, were for the second year in a row partners of the EU – Western Balkans Summit in Brussels, realized in cooperation with the organization Friends of Europe, within which the event “Enlargement Matters – Europe’s New Geopolitical, Security and Economic Frontier” was held. The summit brought together European and regional officials and participants from the fields of politics, security and economics, among whom were Ana Brnabić, Christopher Hill, Miroslav Lajčák, Kristina Gerasimov, Aleksandar Nikoloski, Štefan Füle and Jamie Shea. The discussions focused on the geopolitical, security and economic dimensions of European Union enlargement, as well as on the readiness of the Western Balkan countries for reforms, commitment to the European path and strengthening of institutions.
At the “BELTALKS – Belgrade Economic Talks” forum in Belgrade, WMG and EUpravo Zato appeared as partners of the event organised by the think-tank GLOBSEC, in cooperation with the embassies of the United Kingdom, France and Italy, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the organization Friends of Europe. Discussions focused on current issues of the European Union and the Western Balkans, including European integrations, the growth plan and the single market, with reference to the economic and political challenges of the region within European policies.
The 25th Belgrade Economic Forum was also held in Belgrade, the leading regional platform for dialogue on public policies and economic strategy, at which WMG and the WMG Foundation initiative, EUpravo Zato, were partners. The gathering brought together representatives of institutions, business, the academic community, culture and media from Serbia and the international community, and discussions focused on issues of economic development, growth and innovation in Serbia and the region, as well as on topics of institutional reforms and long-term development directions.
These partnerships ensured the presence of WMG in relevant European and regional debates on European integrations, economic policies and cooperation between the European Union and the Western Balkans, within an institutional and political framework in which the next steps for the region were considered. At the same time, through these partnerships WMG further confirmed its mission to launch initiatives for better mutual understanding and strengthening trust between Serbia, the Western Balkans and the European Union, as well as to contribute to the transformation of business and society throughout the region by encouraging change, improving productivity and enabling greater connectivity and cooperation, with the aim of reaching a European level and global competitiveness.
